ABOUT ARTHOUSE

WHERE IN THE WORLD WOULD WE BE WITHOUT THE ARTS

ArtHouse is like a Village – and it’s not a small village. We estimate that close to 15,000 young people have little or no access to extra-curricular arts programs throughout the Halton Region. And while we simply can’t reach everyone, we are grateful to our Community Partners, Our Instructors, Volunteers and our Donors who are helping us to engage our most vulnerable young people providing them with better pathways to their futures. With Covid, our role changed when we went beyond the arts to serve many of our ArtHouse families with weekly fresh meals in partnership with some generous local restaurants. And our Arts programming quickly transitioned from Live to Virtual. We’ve learned so much more over the past two years, and as we move Back to the Future, we know we can do an even better job to serve our young people – creatively, physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, educationally, nutritionally, environmentally and unconditionally in an atmosphere that is supportive and safe. We are determined to show them those “possibilities”, helping them plan their futures in this fast changing and exciting 21st century.

OUR HISTORY:

Since 2009 ArtHouse has engaged over 10,000 vulnerable young kids by providing 717 Neighbourhood and Community Programs, delivered at 90 Subsidized Housing locations, Cooperatives, Community Hubs and in collaborative partnerships with front-line Agencies throughout Halton.

OUR MISSION:

ArtHouse is a Halton charitable organization that provides FREE arts-based programs for children and youth age 7-17 who have little or no access to fee-related activities. We nurture the wellbeing of the Whole Child every step of the way – unconditionally – in an atmosphere that is supportive and safe.

OUR FRONT OF THE LINE POLICY:

Over the last 13 years, ArtHouse has built a strong network of families throughout Halton that has been introduced to us through our many Neighbourhood and Community partners. As a charitable organization that is grateful for its generous financial supporters, we remain fully committed to directing their donations to programs that support children and youth residing within the Region of Halton and where cost may be a barrier. While we do not want to discourage anyone from registering, we know there may be disappointments and thank you for your understanding.

ARTHOUSE – CONNECTED EVERY STEP OF THE WAY

“ArtHouse has brought me up when I was down, helped my family and I when we weren’t in the best situation. Without ArtHouse I would be a completely different person than what I am today.”
