ABOUT ARTHOUSE

WHERE IN THE WORLD WOULD WE BE WITHOUT THE ARTS

ArtHouse is like a Village – and it’s not a small village. We estimate that close to 15,000 children and youth have little or no access to any extra-curricular programs throughout the Halton Region. And while we simply can’t accommodate everyone, we are grateful to our Community Partners, our Instructors, Volunteers and our Donors who are working with us to ensure that we can reach as many of our most vulnerable young people as possible. Our goal is to enhance their confidence, curiosity, imagination, resilience and respect for one another. We are using our arts-based programming to show them that there are Pathways to Possibility and that beyond graduation there is a world of opportunity in our fast-changing 21st century.

Recognizing that all is not totally settled in our post-pandemic world, we believe the case for the arts is the strongest we’ve seen in decades. We are committed to helping our participants grow creatively, socially, emotionally, intellectually and unconditionally in an atmosphere that is supportive and safe. We will stay connected Every Step of the Way.

OUR HISTORY:

Since 2009 ArtHouse has engaged over 11,200 vulnerable young kids by providing 840 Neighbourhood and Community Programs, delivered at 90 Subsidized Housing locations, Cooperatives, Community Hubs and in collaborative partnerships with front-line Agencies throughout Halton.

OUR MISSION:

ArtHouse is a Halton charitable organization that provides FREE arts-based programs for children and youth age 7-17 who have little or no access to fee-related activities. We nurture the wellbeing of the Whole Child every step of the way – unconditionally – in an atmosphere that is supportive and safe.

OUR FRONT OF THE LINE POLICY:

Over the last 14 years, ArtHouse has built a strong network of families throughout Halton that has been introduced to us through our many Neighbourhood and Community partners. As a charitable organization that is grateful for its generous financial supporters, we remain fully committed to directing their donations to programs that support children and youth residing within the Region of Halton and where cost may be a barrier. While we do not want to discourage anyone from registering, we know there may be disappointments and thank you for your understanding.
